The camp was attended by more than 50 Traffic Police personnel, who actively participated in the screening and consultation services made available to them.
A range of basic but essential health screening services was provided during the camp, including the measurement of height and weight, blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing and Electrocardiograms (ECG) where medically indicated. Height and weight measurements were used to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI), helping to identify individuals who were underweight, overweight or obese. This enabled doctors to offer appropriate lifestyle and dietary guidance. Blood pressure screening revealed that some personnel had elevated readings, including individuals who were previously unaware of their condition. They were advised on regular monitoring, medication compliance where required, salt restriction, stress management and physical activity. Random blood sugar testing helped detect possible diabetic and pre-diabetic conditions, and those with raised levels were advised to seek further medical evaluation and adopt healthier habits. ECG tests were carried out for selected individuals based on clinical evaluation and patient history, helping to identify potential heart-related abnormalities and guiding them to further specialized consultation where needed.
Dr. Santu Mal remained present throughout the camp to examine the beneficiaries and review their test results. Personalized medical consultations were provided, during which the findings were explained in simple and clear language. Counseling focused on lifestyle modification, balanced nutrition, regular exercise, stress management, avoidance of tobacco and excessive alcohol, and the importance of regular medical follow-up. Special attention was given to elderly personnel and those already suffering from chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes. Beneficiaries requiring ongoing monitoring or ECG services will continue to be guided as per medical advice to ensure continuity of care.
The response from the Traffic Police was overwhelmingly positive. Participants expressed satisfaction with the organization of the camp, the quality of services and the courteous behaviour of the medical and support teams. Many shared that the camp helped them better understand their current health status and motivated them to take proactive steps toward healthier living. Health education materials and verbal guidance also played an important role in spreading awareness about non-communicable diseases, early warning signs and preventive strategies.
The Health Check Camp at Old Civil Lines, Delhi proved to be a successful and impactful initiative, benefiting more than 50 Traffic Police personnel through free health screenings and medical consultations. By supporting early detection and encouraging preventive healthcare practices, the camp addressed both immediate healthcare needs and long-term health awareness. Such initiatives are invaluable in strengthening community health and should continue to be organized regularly.
In this camp, Dr. Santu Mal, nursing school students, trained nurses, ward boys and other support staff played a significant role. We extend our sincere thanks to all team members for their dedication and commitment, which ensured the successful conduct of the Medical Health Check-up Camp.
