triven-trschDifferent factors contribute to different types of cancer. Researchers continue to investigate what factors increase risk for this type of cancer, including ways to prevent it. Although there is no proven way to completely prevent uterine cancer, you may be able to lower your risk by prevention and early detection and timely treatment. The practice of regular examination helps in prevention of diseases, save lives and reduces health care costs In India; there are 3 most common cancers in a female:

1. Breast Cancer:

Breast cancer is the top cancer in women both the developed and developing country. Early detection in order to improve breast cancer outcome and survival remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control. According to medical experts, about 4 out of 5 breast cancer patients in India are at an advanced stage when they come to a hospital. Mammography is the best screening tool used to detect and diagnose breast cancer. Together with regular clinical exams and monthly breast self-examinations. USG breast may further be required to confirm the diagnosis if suspected.

2. Cervical Cancer:

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer affecting the Indian women. Unlike most other cancers, cervical cancer can be prevented through screening by identifying and treating the precancerous lesions, any time during the course of cervical carcinoma. Women with pre- invasive lesions have a five-year survival rate of nearly 100%. In the absence of screening, nearly 70% of cervical cancer patients in India present in stages III and IV. Nearly 20% of women with cervical cancer die within the first year of diagnosis and the 5-year relative survival rate is 50%.

3. Uterine/ Ovarian Cancer:

Uterine cancer is diagnosed with a pelvic examination and Ultrasound and occasionally CT or MRI may be done to confirm the diagnosis.

4. Osteoporosis:

It is very common in females and Low calcium intake contributes to diminished bone density, early bone loss and an increased risk of fractures.
